halloween decorating

Posted by Luisa From Celebrations ByLuisa on October 13, 2011 at 3:05 PM Comments comments (0)

So I think it's bad that I started decorating for Halloween so "late" . Now when I mean late it really isn;t for most people but, I like to decorate on the 1st so I have the wholw month the enjoy it. I have now made more "bats" for my wall....and will continue to add "mice" to my stairs. Soon I will start working on snacks for our little party but, it seems like I can never  catch up!! I know peole with small children can relate. By the time you feed and change them it's time to do it again....then it's time to cook dinner and the whole day has gone by. Any way here is the "Bats"

I have been hard at work Over decorating the inside of the house. Basically I decorate the dinningroom for  each holiday. So this Halloween is no exception especially when I can now decrate knowing we are having a small party here. So far:

  •   "mice" are on the stairs (stairs are next to the dinningrm)
  • streamers in orange & black
  • Cut out black bats which are "flying" across one wall - debating making more....
  • Happy Halloween banners up
  • plastic table cloth with halloween stuff on it
  • misc cheezy paper decorations ont he walls

not sure what else I could jam pack in??? anyone have any suggestions? I will be posting some pictures soon of what I already have.

Here are my "mice"

So I continue to hunt for more party decorations that are not store bought or boring. easier said than done. even harder is finding things that aren't frightning to children. I don't want the blood or gore.

I am spending way too much time trying to figure out if there is any thing out there.......and this is what I have come across so far:

Working on making some DIY decorations for the inside of the house. I have a few things up but, I feel like it just doesn't cut it. Looked at a few stores but, most of the stuff was the same old thing or not very interesting. So tonight I am cutting out "mice".

Found a nice templete on some web site.....If anyone wants it lwt mew know and I will post the link. Anyway, going to place them on the fronts of the stairs so when you open the door it looks like mice are running across. Sounds interesting huh? Well here is the inspirations:

By the way cutting out "mice" is hard work- lol - I will post a picture as soon as I am done.
